I'll be found in you...

Brooke Fraser- Shadowfeet..

Walking, stumbling on these shadowfeet
Toward home, a land that I've never seen
I am changing
Less and less asleep
Made of different stuff than when I began
And I
have sensed it all along
Fast approaching is the day

When the world has fallen out from under me
I'll be found in you, still standing
When the sky rolls up and mountains fall on their knees
When time and space are through
I'll be found in you

There's distraction buzzing in my head
Saying in the shadows it's easier to stay
But I've heard rumours of true reality
Whispers of a well-lit way

When the world has fallen out from under me
I'll be found in you, still standing
When the sky rolls up and mountains fall on their knees
When time and space are through
I'll be found in you

You make all things new

When the world has fallen out from under me
I'll be found in you, still standing
When the sky rolls up and mountains fall on their knees
When time and space are through
I'll be found in you

When the world has fallen out from under me
I'll be found in you, still standing
Every fear and accusation under my feet
When time and space are through
I'll be found in you
When time and space are through
I'll be found in you
When time and space are through
I'll be found in you

Choose life...but REALLY LIVE!

I was at a friend's wedding this past weekend and as the pastor was exhorting the couple he said, "Don't just be married; be REALLY married!" We all laughed, haha and moved on. But today the phrase "choose life..but REALLY LIVE," has been ringing in my ears.

Isn't it true that we all have been given the GIFT of life but that we always choose whether or not we really live. This generation is full of those who aren't really living. Maybe they're functioning by eating & sleeping but that doesn't mean they're really living. They're looking for truth but really they are looking, longing and searching for LIFE, and those who are ALIVE!

What does it mean to REALLY be ALIVE?? The breath in Hebrew is RUAH... It literally means that every time we breath in and out we are breathing in and out the very essence of God. I don't know about you but I want that breath to empower me to be all that I was intended to be at creation. I don't want to use the breath inside of me to believe doubts about God's love or to speak things out that don't edify and build someone up. What could we be if we chose, everyday, to REALLY LIVE!!

Romans 8:11 says, "But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you!!"

So I pray the we would REALLY LIVE by the SPIRIT OF LIFE! Let's speak LIFE over ourselves, our dreams, our families and friends, and over our generation!

Leading Worship this Monday..

This coming Monday, May 4th,  at 7pm I will be leading worship on the CBN.com Spiritual gifts webcast. It will be a new experience for me! My good friend, Isa, will be helping me lead! So if you think of it please say a prayer for us Monday night. Pray that the Lord's presence would be heavy. Without HIM we are just a bunch of songs. ~Myrrh

Some beautiful moments

Yesterday was a great day. From the moment I stepped outside I knew it was going to be beautiful. The air was warm and it felt great on my skin. I went to work and was responsible for producing a summary of the outdoor chapels that are happening here at CBN. Gordon talked about revivalists of old and how we need to stay on fire in our relationship with God. After work I went on a long bike ride at the beach. My friend Amy lives close to the water. I can't tell you how refreshing it felt to have my muscles ache and feel the blood pumping in my body. On the drive home, the windows were down and tons of warm air was passing through. I couldn't help but thank God for all my many blessings. The simple things: having a car to drive, a creative job, great friends, an amazing family. I always tell God I never want to take for granted the blessings He's given me. So thanks God, thanks for everything that is and is to come!

I'm ready now...

I'm listening to Desperation Bands, "I'm ready now," and my heart is like, "Ya, I'm ready!"
So most times we think we're ready but we're really not! funny how that works! But now, I REALLY AM READY!! I don't know what that looks like. I wish I knew. I do know that I feel doors closing but I haven't seen new ones open yet. I'm ready for adventure. I'm ready to step out in faith. I'm ready to move. I'm ready to love. I'm ready for God to reveal Himself to me in ways that I've never known before. I have such a sense that something is getting ready to happen but I have NO IDEA what that is. Ya never know what my next post will be!! :)

Wild Goose Chase

I've been reading this book called, "Wild Goose Chase," by Mark Batterson. I picked it up from my bro-in-laws office because it looked interesting. My time in Minnesota ended too fast and I never got a chance to read it. I was going to leave it behind but he told me to take it because it just might be what i need to read at just the right time. Boy was he right!! And I'm not even done with the book yet! Here are just a few of Mark Batterson's quotes that have resonated with me...

"Jesus didn't die to make us safe. He died to make us dangerous...when was the last time you asked Him to make you dangerous?"

"The soul lives by that which it loves." ~St John of the Cross

"When it comes to doing the will of God, God-ordained passions are far more important than any human qualification we can bring to the table."

"What passion of mine is God asking me to take responsibility for?"

"You never know how God ordained desires will be conceived."

"We take constants for granted and God is the ultimate constant."

"In fact, spiritual maturity has less to do with long-range visions than it does with moment-by-moment sensitivity to the promptings of the Holy Spirit."

"The only way to discover a new identity is to lay down an old one." Ex- moses laying down his staff at the burning bush.

"Logic questions God. Faith questions assumptions. And at the end of the day, faith is trusting God more than you trust your own assumptions."

I'm Back

I just got back from visiting my sister, sam and new niece Abby! I had sooooo much fun and it was very difficult coming back to VA. I had not seen them all since before Sarah got pregnant and it was so refreshing hugging them all. It's amazing to me how fast you can fall in love with a new baby. She has the most amazing faces and I am looking forward to seeing her grow and become all that God has destined for her to be.

What's your move..playa!?!?! :)

Ever surprise yourself and do something you thought you'd NEVER be able to do?! The older I get the more I realize how many limitations I put on myself. For instance, I love music but I honestly never thought I was good at it. I had classical piano lessons growing up but I was the typical kid that resisted practicing. Needless to say not much stuck! As I went through college music still wasn't a huge piece of my life. I was always the one secretly singing into the radio antenna but I never thought I could really sing. I'm not sure where that notion came from other than the enemy who wants to kill our dreams. I was a senior in college and a group of people praying for me said that I would be traveling and doing music and that God was going to open up doors I had never thought possible. I cried when I heard it but still nothing came of it..that is until 3 years ago. I started singing on Friday nights at my church. The first time I heard myself sing in the mic I freaked out! But I continued to try and began to realize that God had a portion of Himself that He wanted to communicate through me. That is all I have ever truly desired anyway. So another first happened this past friday, February 20, 2009.. I lead worship and PLAYED THE KEYS!!!! Now I was super nervous because my house is usually the only audience that ever hears me play but God was gracious to me and I had an amazing team playing with me! It was a good start and I began realizing how many times all the little steps I had taken had prepared me for that moment. I remember the pilot from the Hudson River crash saying that all his training had prepared him for THAT MOMENT. And what an important moment it was!!! God really does pull the details of our lives together and He prepares us even when we don't realize we're being prepared! Step out in your giftings and be encouraged that nothing is impossible to him who believes!!! So I'll keep practicing and stepping out to play in front of people. What's your next move?!!!

A miracle is about to be born...

I am about to be an Aunt! Well, i am an aunt already to many dear friends! But my first biological niece is about to come into the picture! I can't tell you how excited i am. What a journey it has been for our family. I know Sarah and Sam have borne the difficulty personally but because we love them, we have as well. I will never forget when my mom came and told me that Pastor Alfred had prophesied over Sarah that she would have a baby within a year! After so many disappointments my spirit jumped within me. I instantly started crying because I knew that she would indeed have a baby. So here we are nine months later and we all are getting ready to welcome this child into the world! I'm not sure why there has been so much pain and delay in the promise. But I am so excited that God is a God of hope. Therein lies my peace. Hold onto to the promises of God for your life. He has not forgotten. Sarah and Sam went through 3 miscarriages and have been married 5 years. I myself am waiting on God to move in my own life. But there is a quote that encourages me. I'm not sure who it is by.. "All that I see teaches me to trust in all that I don't and is yet to come." HOLD ON...He who began a good work in you will complete it!!

I am HIS DNA

I am HIS DNA
Battered and flawed, yes.
But HIS nonetheless.
Created in the image of the UNCREATED GOD.
I'm the sparkle in HIS eyes.
And HE is working redemption in me every moment of every day.
I'm a story whose ending HE has planned but it is still unfolding.
I am a mystery of grace.
I breathe in and breathe out every breathe that HE gives me.
I am a soul on a journey to reflect the beauty and truth of who JESUS IS.
The knowledge of the MOST HIGH is engraved in my spirit.
I am the property of the SAFEST and MOST HUMBLE BEING IN THE UNIVERSE.
I am loved without rose-colored glasses; seen as I am naked and in need of love, yet never rejected.
I am beautiful and sought after.
The mere knowing of my DNA and to whom I belong to causes my SAVIOR to dance and sing over me.
Crafted to perfection, HIS perfection
I am HIS DNA.

deep

So it has been a while.. The thing is the stuff I write about just ends up being deep. Not on purpose. I just don't have kids to tell funny stories about! But for the sake of the blog and the friends who ask me about it (you know who you are :) here ya go.

At the moment life is pretty quiet. I am still plugging away at CBN as a producer. Recently, I had the opportunity to go to Alabama and visit a ministry called the Basement. It rocked me because I have been asking the Lord for years to do what they are doing. I was so blessed to see that God is moving in my generation. At the same time it made me want to drop everything and go be a part of it. It re-surfaced all my questions of purpose and destiny. None of which I have any answers for. I know that we are able to step out and do things but I just don't feel like I know what that is yet. I know the question is always evolving but I am hoping He will bring some answers soon. I feel as if I am in a perpetual state of limbo. So there ya go.. my deep blog.

Jesus saves the day....

Hey Ya'll!

If anyone sees this I wanted to let you know that I have a friend's story that is going to be airing on the 700 Club this coming Tuesday, June 2nd. It will air on ABC Family at 10am and 11pm. You can also check out local listings at cbn.com.

His name is Mike, he's 27 and Jesus really did change his life! He grew up in a Christian home but got in with the wrong crowd. His journey takes him from the streets to the marine corp, back to the streets and finally to Jesus. Mike's story will inspire you to believe for yourself and for your friends that God's power is able to save. After all being holy isn't so much about me making myself holy as it is Jesus saving the day and creating me into that person of holiness.

Check it out!!

THE Pursuit....

Recently I made a new friend through an interview that I did for work. Throughout our conversation she talked about her life and the healing that she has experienced. She described her healing as the evidence of His (God's) pursuit of her life. Every time I've heard that statement since then it has resonated within my spirit. I don't have a lot of experience in the area of men and the pursuit. That's not a negative. The Lord just has to help make it clear. But the Lord has been reminding me of how much He has pursued my life. God's pursuit of us is always with the intention to bear fruit. He's a Kingdom God so His pursuit of us is never ending and it knows no bounds. I think that because we live in a natural world full of brokeness it is easy to feel forgotten. I know sooo many amazing single women that no man is pursuing. It's easy to slide into not feeling worthy of being pursued. But even if a gem is hidden/not pursued, it doesn't make it any less of a gem. It's all about learning to live in the pleasure of a God that is always completely satisfied with His love towards us. It is so comforting to know that His pursuit of me doesn't get old but that He rejoices in me moment by moment. I love the verse in Zeph 3:17, "The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing." I am so thankful that His love over me is strong and that He is able to understand my weak emotions and gives me His strength to live my life. Truly we all have in some way felt the evidence of God's pursuit over our lives. What is yours?

Garage Band has just changed my life forever!!!

Isn't it crazy how the one thing you need could be right under your nose and you've never known it??!! For instance, I sing and play piano. I'm not amazing but as I continue to spend time with God I am writing more and more songs. Well I've been calling my voicemail and leaving myself messages with the melodies and words so I wouldn't forget them. In fact many songs have reached their "This message will be saved for 40 days.." more than a few times. I was going to by some sort of digital recorder when my brother showed me how to work garage band!! Who knew that it was so stinkin' simple!! So now I have songs that I've recorded the piano and vocals for. All in one night! I am so excited at the possibilities. It's also really humbling because when I hear myself I don't think I sound that great. But because I love Jesus He somehow uses it anyway. I have been wanting to record for months.....today is the day that God revealed what has been in my life for 3 years already!!

Production Companies

I'm in a class where one of the projects is to come up with a production company. That would be great if I knew what i wanted to do. Instead I have been staring at the computer trying to imagine where I will be in 10 years within the media world. I don't have a clue. I'm beginning to think this whole school thing is more frustrating than helpful.

MODULAR WEEK

I've been done with school for a couple years. I graduated in 2005 with no intentions of ever going back. But then again I never had any idea I would be working in TV either...and here I am. So last week was my first long week of classes. We're talking mon-fri; 9-5 baby! It's only meant for the strong. :) That's what I told myself to get through it. In and of itself it was a great class. I learned a lot. I have no idea what the purpose of this knowledge is for but for some reason God wants me here.  Could it be to meet a man??!! Not likely but if that is my story I will not turn it down. I'm feeling the need for a little motivation considering the fact that I feel like I am completely back to square one in life. I was in school for 25 years straight and now I'm back after only a short time. I don't know if this blog stuff is good...too much confession :)
